Prime Mover Driver is the basic entry position open to all academic levels. The program includes foundational and fundamental elements to set a basis for learning, and to achieve baseline competence. Therefore, they can progress to a level of competency such as obtaining a skill proficiency card (SPC) which will enable them to operate container handling equipment in the port.
Moreover, a career path has been established where good performance and discipline will allow the employee to upskill and become eligible to be upgraded to management level.
All of the equipment handling’s lesson and facilities will be conducted by Northport’s experienced trainers. At the same time, a driver’s license (D) is required to drive the equipment as prescribed by Northport as the minimum requirement before they enrol in the journey.
