The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. This role involves preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, managing budgets, and supporting overall financial operations within the organization.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Ensure timely submission of financial reports to management and relevant authorities.
Account Reconciliation:
Reconcile bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial accounts.
Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation and management of departmental budgets.
Monitor budget performance, provide variance analysis, and assist in cost-control measures.
Assist in financial forecasting and financial planning for the organization.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Manage accounts payable and ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
Monitor and manage accounts receivable, ensuring prompt collection of outstanding debts.
Follow up on overdue accounts and handle collections as necessary.
Tax Compliance:
Prepare and file tax returns (VAT, income tax, etc.) in compliance with local regulations.
Assist in preparing necessary documents for tax audits and internal audits.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and financial regulations.
Audit Support:
Assist in preparing for external and internal audits.
Provide necessary documentation and financial information for audit purposes.
General Ledger Management:
Maintain and update the general ledger.
Post journal entries and ensure proper coding of all financial transactions.
Financial Analysis:
Provide financial analysis and insights to assist management in decision-making.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, forecast future financial performance, and assess financial risks.
Compliance and Internal Controls:
Ensure compliance with accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS) and company policies.
Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard financial data and assets.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification is a plus).
Experience: 2-4 years of accounting experience (preferred).
Skills:
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or others) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
